From the age of 13, Imad Khalid found himself behind a barber’s chair, cutting hair in local shops, driven purely by passion. While others his age were still figuring things out, Imad was already developing a craft that would define his future.
Though he initially set out to become an accountant, Imad quickly realised that numbers couldn’t compete with clippers. Swapping spreadsheets for scissors, he launched a mobile barbering service across Oxford, on his bike. His entrepreneurial spirit was already in full swing.
Imad’s journey led him to Derby, where he opened his first barbershop—a bold step toward chasing his real passion. He started by working in his cousin’s barbershop, learning the ropes of running a business. Not long after, he launched his own shop: Class Barber. Within a year, it was a thriving success. True to his visionary nature, Imad sold the business and set his sights on new horizons.
In 2012, Imad relocated to Swansea and opened Giovanni’s Barbers, where he became deeply involved in community work. From helping the homeless to raising money for cancer research and other charitable causes, his barbershop was more than just a place for haircuts—it was a space for giving back.
After a few fulfilling years, Imad sold Giovanni’s and stepped away from barbering to run a café. But something was missing.

By 2017, Imad found himself back where he truly belonged—dreaming up his next barbershop business in a café in Swansea. Armed with a pen, paper, and a list of over 200 name ideas, he finally landed on the one that captured it all, TRIMOLOGY.
The first TRIMOLOGY location opened on Llangyfelach Road. From that single shop, the brand has grown steadily, fuelled by passion, innovation, and a commitment to excellence.
Today, TRIMOLOGY is a chain of multi-award-winning barbershops that spans Swansea, Cardiff, Dundee, Nottingham, Newport, and Llanelli, with a team of over 20 professional barbers.
